Mission: Ecuador

Mission Team: Tishomingo Chapel Baptist Church

Saturday: Banquet for the Poor and "Welcome"
Saturday, the first day, is always tough after arriving late and getting to bed around 2am. We had our orientation at breakfast, met our main interpreter for the week, Salome, and off we went to "El Ejido", a 300 year old park in Quito, to buy souvenirs. The daughter of one of the IMB missionaries here, Katlyn, came along with us as well.

Later, we went to a bakery for lunch on the way out to the church at San Jose Alto. The afternoon was wonderful. We had a combination "banquet for the poor" of the neighborhood and a "welcome to town" meal for the team. We also showed an evangelistic movie for the neighbors on a giant screen.

We ended up the day, as we did all week long, having supper cooked by the church ladies and visiting with the church members. We got home each night around 9pm.
