Ecuador Ecuador We started out our day at the Alliance Academy, checking out Deb's classroom. We went on to "Casa Gabriel" for a quick tour, and then on to the Botanical Garden of Quito to enjoy the flowers. We discovered that an Orchid show was going on, and it was absolutely amazing to behold!
Later, we had a light lunch and picked up Diego Leon, one of my ministry partners, to come and be a translator for the evening. We spent the afternoon finishing the mural that Deb had started for us, trying not to ruin it! We all pitched in and it came out pretty well.
We ended up the day, as we did all week long, having supper cooked by the church ladies and visiting with the church members. We had a touching, final goodbye service in the church. The team gave out tshirts (they printed up some really nice "sister church" tshirts!) and other gifts for the church members. The church members shared some gifts as well. Each member of the team took a moment to reflect on the week and thank the church, followed by hugs and photos for all!
Finally, back at our house, we held a reflection time and a final devotion before heading back to the hotel and pack.
