Ministry Opportunities

These are real needs of fellow Christians here in Ecuador that we are personally involved with. They love Jesus, and are sacrificing more than you and I can imagine for the advancement of his Kingdom. We cannot help everyone, but together as the body of Christ, we can reach those God has in our path. (2 Cor 8:14, 15).

* The "Great Commission" project - working with a group of indigenous churches to train and disciple them to in turn become churches that effectively carry out the Great Commission. Read more about this project.

* Poor missions and churches in the surrounding countryside need bibles for new Christians who don't have the means to buy one (yes, people really are that poor here). Send a donation to Global Outreach noting that it is for the Bond family and also "Bibles".

* Churches or Church groups in the 'States', such as Sunday School classes, can adopt an indigenous church here as a sister church or simply sponsor one. Help buy Sunday school materials and other similar resources for a church here; even start a cross-culutural relationship with another body of Christ from Ecuador! You decide how involved you want to be.

* Opportunities for short term mission groups: Come here and help through constuction, evangelism, discipleship, special "church camp" events for kids, and other outreach programs. We mainly working with poorer indigenous people living in the outlying areas around Quito. They are mainly agricultural and/or blue collar workers. There is also an orphanage where lots of help, and lots of love are needed. We host a number of teams per year, and we plan everything to be done here in Ecuador for you, including pre-trip orientation. The general cost is about $60 per day plus your airfare (some specialized trips may cost more, but we provide a budget ahead of time).

Prayer Requests

In addition to asking for prayer for the above ministry needs, we would like you to pray for:

* The Ecuadorian missionaries we have trained and their work into an area resistant to the gospel.

* Melissa's first year at Ole' Miss.

* The spiritual growth of the folks at Linaje Escogido church, and their need to evangelize the area they live in.

* Our mission trip to the Galapagos Islands to paint the "Creation Story" murals and evangelize.

* Our language skills and our ability to share God's love with those around us.

* Protection from harm and evil, as we are tremendous targets both physically and spiritually here in this dark place. It is relentless.

Praise Report

Praise the Lord for answered prayers, and blessings!

* We are going to the Galapagos Islands to paint the "creation story" murals !

* Andrea is doing GREAT and God has blessed her in her life changes.

* The creation of our national missionary team, formed from 4 sister churches here.

*The completion (at least to a functional state) of "Linaje Escojido" BC in Chinchinloma, to serve as our base of operations for evangelizing the lost communities higher up in the mountain.
