Who We Are
God has called us to the Mission field in Quito, Ecuador...
We are missionaries through "Global Outreach International" since July 2003. Our home church is Oakland Baptist in Corinth, MS.
Before leaving the United States, we were active Christians in our NE Mississippi community - through Jail Ministry, the local Food Bank, the "Light House" Foundation, the AWANA program, teaching for the local Home School Association, and as Men's Ministry Director for the Alcorn Baptist Association... even preaching as the Lord allowed.
I believe that if we are in Christ, we are into missions. The Great Commission (Matthew 28:18-20) is our standard. GO... BAPTIZE... TEACH... with the main imperative command being MAKE DISCIPLES. Within this focus, our emphasis is enabling Ecuadorians to do the work, not doing it for them.
The Work
God has brought us to a place of service using our gifts... Deborah is using her ability in Art; I am using my gifts of encouragement and teaching in obedience to the Great Commission in the Quito area.
Deborah's ministry is at the "Alliance Academy International" as an art teacher for missionary kids as well as many other different nationalities. I am involved in the training, equipping, and discipling of Ecuadorian churches & leaders who have a heart for reaching the unreached outlying population with the gospel... working and evangelizing in remote and hostile areas. We are also working with an Orphanage "Jardin de Eden" as a small part of our ministry, and hosting short term mission teams! How exciting to live out the New Testament!
Senders
Our whole heart is to serve the Lord; He has called us to the Mission Field, and we are there. But we need you on His team with us to make it possible. Our ministry is totally "faith based"; meaning that we are responsible for raising our own support. The blunt truth is that we can't stay unless you help us. We would ask you to please:
1. Pray about whether God wants you to be a part of this ministry team as a sender: as a committed, regular prayer partner... even as a monetary support partner.
2. If God speaks to your heart about being a monetary partner, pray about how much, and when to start. If you are committing to be a prayer partner, PRAY FOR US REGULARLY! Specifically for support raising, general preparation, sale of our home, and continued good health.
3. Contact us by email, phone, or send your contribution in to Global Outreach. The address, phone numbers, and email are listed below. 100% of your tax-deductible donations go directly to our ministry!
Commentary
I believe that if we are in Christ, we are into missions. We are willing to accept that calling and put our family on the line... would you be willing to be a sending member of this ministry God has put together? A real and integral part of a ministry reaching God's children here? The senders are as critical a part of God's mission ministry as the ones going. Won't you please pray about accepting this challenge, and seize the opportunity for God's blessings as a partner in His desire for us to reach the unreached & underprivileged of Ecuador?

FACTS ABOUT ECUADOR:
ECUADOR is in the Eastern Time zone (The Galapagos Islands are in the central time zone). It's currency is the US Dollar. It is on the Equator, which is how it got its name. It is the leading exporter of bananas, roses & other flowers. Quito, the capitol city, is one of the oldest continuous capitol cities in the world, and is at 9,500 feet above sea level, surrounded by volcanoes and is nestled in a beautiful valley in the majestic Andes Mountains.
Global Outreach is an inter-denominational Evangelical organization. All of their missionaries are faith-based support raisers and/or "tent makers".
