A Crossroads Community in a Rural Setting

2011 : Our work in this larger community continues to grow and change. We have moved the study at La Rosalia to La Rumiñhaui (just across the main road) because the population is much greater. We are already seeing a number of professions of faith, and a larger gathering in just a couple of months.

We temporarily rented a "mission house" in San Vicente this year, which produced great results. We are at the point of moving the group of Christians that meet there back into their own houses for a more permanent situation. 2010 : We have opened up two works in this community. "La Rosalia", which is shown below in the "Winter '08 -'09" photos below, and now, "San Vicente", a large neighborhood about 1/2 mile up the highway. Both areas have a kids' bible study, youth bible study, and an adult bible study going, as well as evangelism. We will devote separate pages from now on to these two works. In late 2008 and now in 2009, our evangelism work is shifting somewhat to the Cusubamba community, just below Linaje Escogido church due to a radical shift in circumstances. First, the only evangelical church there closed its doors and no longer exists, leaving no Christian activity there. We held two days of open-air outreach in November, along with a Vacation Bible School day, and there was much interest on the part of the community. It is an open, fertile area ready for a powerful work. Secondly, the roads up to Linaje Escogido church and beyond into the other areas of work were torn up due to a sewer line project. Many times we could not pass, even in a four wheel drive vehicle, especially in this rainy season.
