Project: Sponsor a Child

The families blessed by this program in 2009

This is no longer an active ministry

Welcome to a wonderful project, thanks to the idea of a friend of mine. Here we have pictured some of the families from Betania church in Chambitola, where we have been working for a year now. Each family has one of their children featured, with the opportunity to sponsor that child for the costs of attending school. This includes, pension, books and supplies, three school uniforms, monthly fees, and 50 cents a day for lunch.

The cost is $20 per month averaged over 12 months. However, please keep in mind that about $120 of the total cost is due in August, for uniforms, books, etc. for the beginning of the school year. Please prayerfully consider sponsoring a child from this poor farming community where every penny counts. All of the children featured are regular attenders at Betania Baptist church, although some of the parents are not. All of the families are "Quichua" Indians, and are farmers. Chambitola community is about 45 minutes up a cobblestone and dirt road from the highway into the remote mountains at 11,400 ft.

If you are interesting in sponsoring one of these needy children, please send me an email at rod@rodbond.com .

God bless your loving kindness.

Updated photos from November of 2010 - 2014 are posted on our facebook photos page.

Photos for 2011 are on these two facebook pages: page one and page two.

(All pictured children are presently sponsored for the 2011/2012 school year, and are proudly wearing their sponsored uniforms, backpacks, and have their school materials in the photos)
